Wombat Tower is a cooperative dexterity game in which players work together to defend a central tower from waves of invading enemies. The Wombats are under attack, and there’s no time to prepare elaborate plans—players must use quick thinking, careful aim, and a bit of luck to knock the assailants away before they overwhelm the tower’s defenses. The game features a playful, tactile experience centered on a dice tower and advancing enemy forces along four paths.
On a turn, a player may rotate the dice tower to face a chosen path, then roll a special die inside the tower to physically try to knock enemy figures off the board. Any assailants that fall are removed, while those merely pushed are returned to their spaces. After the roll, the die’s symbol is resolved, typically bringing new enemies onto a path, advancing enemies toward the tower, or triggering a bonus action using special Machine cards that modify how the die is launched. Enemies consist of Soldiers and more dangerous Leaders, whose arrival can cause entire paths to surge forward together.
The players win immediately if all assailants are cleared from the board at any point. However, the tower is protected by a limited number of shield tiles, and every time an enemy cannot be placed or advanced because a path is full, a shield is broken. If the third shield breaks, the game ends in a collective loss. A heroic variant increases the difficulty by adding extra enemies during setup, making coordination and precision even more critical.
