Opis w języku angielskim: Lone Wolf: Vengeance of the Kai is an asymmetrical 2-player strategy game set in the world of Lone Wolf - the fantasy setting of the epic game book series first launched 40 years ago. It encompasses the storyline of the first 12 books in the series, allowing players to relive the decisive battle between good (Lone Wolf and the Freeland Alliance) and evil (the Darklords of Helgedad and their allies) for the fate of Magnamund, with different outcomes every time. The game lasts 6 rounds, with each side pursuing different objectives to win. The Freeland Alliance begins the game with less resources (troops, gold) and must survive long enough for Lone Wolf to succeed at five (5) Quests to recover the power and wisdom of his slaughtered Order (the Kai Lords of Sommerlund) to destroy the Darklords. The Darklords possess a more powerful army and greater wealth, which they must use to conquer 5 of 9 strategic Freeland capitals before Lone Wolf succeeds at his Quests. If neither side achieves their objective by the end of the 6th game round, the winner is determined by whoever accumulated more Victory Points, which are gained by succeeding at Quests (Freeland Alliance only), controlling strategic capitals or damaging/destroying enemy Leaders. Game rounds consist of 3 phases - the Action Phase, Quest Phase and Refresh Phase. During the Action Phase, game play is driven by the use of Leaders (major characters from the Lone Wolf saga) who can either move troops to engage in battles / occupy territories or to play Action Cards, which consist of three (3) types - Combat, Strategy and Magic - of varying levels of power. The cards capture major events, actions and items from the book series. Leaders have various skill levels in 4 traits (Combat Skill, Endurance Points, Strategy and Magic) which determine their ability to play different cards and how effective they are in one-on-one Duels with enemy Leaders (which occur during battles or the Quest Phase). Most Leaders have card-specific bonuses that can unlock powerful effects. Freeland Alliance Leaders can also play Item Cards that provide unique benefits. During the Quest Phase, the Freeland player attempts 1 of 5 Quest Cards, which represent several of Lone Wolf's quests from the game books. The first 4 focus on recovering the lost power and wisdom of the Kai Order (the Sommerswerd and the Lorestones of Nyxator), which allow him to unlock the fifth and final Quest to destroy the Darklords. In order to succeed at a Quest, Lone Wolf must Duel a Quest-specific enemy and can use a variety of Item and Action Cards to assist him. During the Action Phase, the Darklord player can harm Lone Wolf or play cards that increase the Quest's difficulty. If Lone Wolf is successful, his trait skill levels increase, making him a more formidable force in future Action and Quest Phases. During the Refresh Phase, players recover/heal their Leaders, recruit new Leaders, draw additional Action Cards, collect resources and build and deploy new troops. The game has multiple sources of variability - mix of Leaders, starting territories, card draws - that allow for endless re-playability (no 2 games will ever be the same). The game play is tense, with every action a trade-off between advancing your own agenda or hindering your opponent's. Seemingly inconsequential actions taken early in the game often turn out to have major repercussions in later rounds. The game also represents the largest collection of Lone Wolf art ever assembled - with over 150 unique illustrations and 215 miniatures across 15 unique sculpts. —description from the designer
