Vedema is a strategy board game inspired by the olive harvest and olive oil production in Crete, where players take the role of olive growers trying to make the most of a year of abundant yield. By claiming fields, harvesting olives, and managing production, players turn their work into valuable oil and victory points.
Over four rounds, players place workers in personal, public, and cooperative fields, as well as in key action spaces on the main board. They must balance timing, resource management, card play, and special abilities while dealing with different field types, oil qualities, merchant demands, and tactical opportunities.
As fields are completed, players collect oil, wood, pomace, symbols, and other rewards, while also using merchant cards, Vedema cards, objectives, and tools to strengthen their position. The player with the most victory points at the end of the game wins.
