In the game, you’ll compete to grow your collection of Spirit Animals, helping them to ascend through the 60-year cycles and complete their journeys. The cards also mirror the calendar and can be used to determine your birth animal & element combination.
Summary
In the game you will summon animals to improve your tableau, work to complete your hidden stem & branch objectives, and evolve the animals to collect elements & spirit stones. This is done by drafting cards from the shared display and playing cards from your hand into your personal tableau. Card costs are relative to the animal's age and element type, with costs being paid by discarding matching element cards or animals of the same type. Costs are also supported by all of the animals in your tableau of the matching element. There can be only one of each animal type in all players tableaus, so plan carefully to remove your opponents younger versions. The game ends once the deck empties a 2nd time, 9 animals have fully evolved, or the spirit stones run out.
