The Twelve Zodiacs is a standalone card game set in the world of Steam Up.

The twelve Zodiacs are on a tasty mission to enjoy a delicious dim sum feast. Knowing the meal isn’t complete without Egg Tarts at the end, they must give it their all to collect the most egg tarts in this ladder-climbing card game.

The game is played in rounds. Each player begins with 8 cards in hand, including 7 Zodiac cards and 1 Wild card.

On each turn, a player takes one of two actions:

• Play: A player must play a valid card set. The set played must rank higher than the previously played set. After playing, if a player has fewer than 8 cards, draw from the Zodiac decks until they have 8 in their hand.

• Pass: A player does not play a set. Instead, draw 1 card from a Zodiac deck. The player who played the previous set wins and gains 1 (or 2) Egg Tart as a reward for playing a set that wasn’t beaten.

A round ends when one of the two Zodiac decks runs out. The player with the most Egg Tarts wins the round and collects a Win token. A new round then begins, and play continues until a player has collected 2 Win tokens, winning the game!
