Players must defend Earth from an alien invasion. The value of each alien will be only determined during the game. The player with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.
Place the 5 value cards on the table in this order: -2, -1, 0, 1, 2. Shuffle and place the 5 alien leader cards below them in random order. Shuffle the alien cards and create a column of 12 alien cards, face up, in random order, corresponding to each alien leader card. All alien and alien leader cards must be overlapped so that they are all visible.
Players take turns to pick up an alien card from the base of one of the columns in the middle of the table and place it face down on the table in front of them to form a personal stack of alien cards. Players may not look at the cards in their stacks until the end of the game. When a column runs out, the corresponding alien leader, now defenceless, withdraws from the battle. The alien leader card is then moved to the lowest value card that has not yet been assigned. This will determine the value of all alien cards of that colour at the end of the game. Therefore the alien cards of the colour of the first alien leader to withdraw are worth -2 points at the end of the game, those of the colour of the second alien leader to withdraw are worth -1 point, those of the third are worth 0 points, and so on.
When there are no more alien cards in the middle of the table, the game ends. Each value card has been assigned an alien leader card. Players may now look at their personal stack of alien cards for the final scoring. Each alien card scores points according to the value card assigned to its alien leader card. The player with the most points is the winner.
