In the year 2077, human society is highly advanced in terms of technology and industrialization, but the Earth is suffering from crises such as resource depletion and environmental degradation. A four-member research team is bravely travelling across the challenging continent in the Fortress of Doom.On the way, the fortress is damaged by a storm (a planetary impact) and needs to be repaired urgently in order to continue its journey. The expedition team must explore, gather resources, and work to repair and replenish the fortress with energy in a land that is both familiar and unfamiliar. Their goal is not only to survive, but to find hope for rebuilding their home.

Roborover 2077: Last Hope is a Technology-Augmented board game designed for 1-4 players. The gameplay blends cooperative and competitive elements, as well as traditional board game play with electronic model interaction. Players take on the roles of brave explorers in a futuristic world, venturing out from their fortress bases to gather resources, produce necessities, and repair the fortress to ensure survival. The game challenges players to balance their actions between exploration, production, and repair, and importantly, to decide when to collaborate towards the same goal and when to collect more points individually.

During the exploration phase, players collect three types of resources: water, food, and energy cubes. They match or sequence these resources to earn multipliers that boost their hydrogen score, which ultimately affects their victory points. The production phase is at the core of the game, where players need to interact with the physical fortress and combine resources to produce necessities, earning hydrogen points and other valuable items. For example, combining water with an energy cube creates energy water, while water and food can craft vitality soup. If the necessities decrease to zero, players will have to deduct hydrogen from their own scores. Therefore, they need to cooperate to keep the necessities always in the safe zone. Repair plays a crucial role in representing the fusion of cooperative and competitive gameplay, as players need to purchase tools to repair all the multifunctional parts of the fortress in order to finish the game. Meanwhile, they are not only doing it for the team; they also gain prestige points that increase their score. The more prestige points a player accumulates, the higher their fame multiplier becomes, which also impacts their victory points.

Driven by App-based events, the game progresses towards its climax. The events include natural disasters, interference, bonus, recalls, and many other types. It also coordinates with the fortress to create a fresh gameplay experience. For example, featuring a rotating robotic arm and automatic identification technology, Roborover's intelligent cards system allows the players to utilize high-tech gear cards to tackle various events in the App. There are two strategies to finish the game. First, you can achieve this by repairing until all malfunctioning components are fully restored. Second, you must find the correct survival token card. Once the game is finished, there is a scoring system that showcases the competitive side of the game by multiplying the hydrogen score by the prestige value and resource coefficient. This formula rewards players for their ability to manage resources and plan their moves strategically. This engaging board game challenges players to adapt to the ever-changing environment, using their wit and strategy to secure a future for humanity in the race for survival.
