Pasture Prime is a competitive strategy game in which players manage and expand cattle ranches by acquiring land, raising herds, and producing resources. Over the course of the game, players add Pasture Cards to their ranch, place different types of cattle, and collect Meat, Milk, and Meal resources based on shared dice rolls and pasture production.

Each turn, dice are rolled to determine which pastures and cattle generate resources and trigger breeding. While all players may benefit from a roll, the active player has greater control over timing, purchases, and development decisions. Players may expand their ranch by purchasing additional pastures from a shared market, stack pastures to improve production and scoring, and manage herd composition to balance growth, efficiency, and risk.

The game features multiple cattle types with different roles, light asymmetry through Barn abilities, and a shared market that creates competition for limited land opportunities. The game ends when an end-game condition is met, after which players score points from developed pastures, cattle, and bonuses. The player with the highest total score wins.
