It’s the annual Great Magic Cat Tournament at Felinor School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!
In Magicats, players represent four prestigious cat clans battling to claim supremacy in the arena.
The game consists of two distinct phases: the Preparation Phase and the Battle Phase.
In the Preparation Phase, players position their cats on the board and equip them with magical powers, by strategically drafting from 11 different magic tokens. Each cat is equipped with four magic tokens to prepare for the fight ahead.
During the Battle Phase, the combat takes place at each turn, allowing the game to move fast and stay exciting. Players move their cats up to four spaces to engage opponents, with the distance between cats changing the dynamic of each encounter. When a cat takes two damages, it loses a magic token to the opponent who dealt the second hit. If a cat loses its final token, the cat itself is captured as a trophy.
The game ends when only one clan remains on the board, and the player who collected the most trophies (magic tokens and captured cats) is the winner.
