In Lighning City: Tokyo, you take it upon yourselves to add new skyscrapers to the everchanging Tokyo skyline. But beware - there is a storm brewing that threatens to destroy everything you've built.
Round after round, you roll a pool of dice that determines which rooms you can build at which street number. Depending on which scoring cards are in play, you then try to arrange these rooms to yield as many points as possible at the end of the game.
But after every round of building, the storm intensifies: Roll to see over which street number the sky darkens. And if you've already rolled that number once before, Lightning strikes, destroying every building there that doesn't have a roof. As soon as the storm has reached a certain intensity, the game ends - and whoever has arranged their rooms most successfully according to the scoring cards in play, wins.
So are you careful and build your roofs as soon as you see the first clouds darken? Or do you try to go for more points, possibly at the expense of your entire building? Lightning City: Tokyo blends Cartographers-style gameplay with the adrenaline rush of an oldschool push our luck-game.
