Designed for 3-10 players, this fast-paced game thrives on unpredictability, deception, and just the right amount of drinking (optional but encouraged). How to Play 1. Setup – Shuffle the Gadget and Omen decks and place them at the center of the table. Each player draws 3 Gadgets to start. The oldest player goes first, and play proceeds clockwise. 2. Player Turn – On their turn, a player: Draws a new Gadget from the deck. Plays a Gadget from their hand If they have any Charms, they may discard one before playing their Gadget 3. Omen Cards – If an Omen card is drawn during a turn, they must be resolved immediately before continuing play. Tip: Use a coin or small object to track whose turn it is—multiple Omens can cause pure chaos! 4. Winning the Game – When either deck is depleted, the player with the most Gadgets in hand wins. Card Types Gadgets – These cards serve as both weapons and lifelines, used to attack opponents or protect yourself. Some Gadgets are special: Boon Gadgets – Defensive tools that can be played outside of your turn. Charm Gadgets – Influence lingering game effects. Omens – Tarot-sized cards that players are forced to draw under certain conditions. Omens rarely bring good news and can introduce devastating effects. Some Omens are Charm Omens, which inflict persistent effects. Charm Omens – Lingering effects that stick to a player until removed. These can be discarded in specific ways, such as with Boon Gadgets or naturally at the start of a player’s turn. Signature Mechanics Gentle Jack! – If a player collects three Charms, anyone can yell "Gentle Jack!" This triggers a race where everyone (except the one who shouted) must finish their drink. The last to finish—or any who refuse—must draw Omens. The first finisher and the player who called it both draw new Gadgets. Shhh! Cards – Some cards have a hidden text symbol, meaning certain instructions must be kept secret from other players. Gentle Jack is designed for rowdy game nights, backstabbing fun, and ridiculous twists. Whether you're hoarding Gadgets, suffering under an Omen, or racing to down your drink, one thing is certain—no one gets out unscathed.
