Using Bands, Marching Groups, Dance Teams, and of course Floats construct your very own Mardi Gras Parade! Be the first to build a 10 Unit Parade using the Unit Cards while avoiding breakdowns, cold weather, and the dreaded RAINOUT! Organizing a Mardi Gras Parade is incredibly complex. Geaux Parade captures a glimpse of that complexity and excitement while you compete against friends and family to be the first to build your very own parade. Players: 2-4 | Time: 15-20 Minutes | Ages: 8 and up (Rule option for younger players) To start the game each player is dealt 7 Unit Cards. The Action Cards and remaining Unit Cards are placed face down in the center of the table. The top Unit Card is turned over and placed next to the Unit Card pile. This becomes the discard pile. On your turn you may draw either the top face up or face down Unit Card. Each turn consists of Three Actions: Unit Card – Start your turn by drawing a Unit Card and adding to your hand. Action Card – Draw an Action Card and complete the action if able. Build Parade – On your turn you can play as many Unit Cards as they would like to build or add to your Parade on the table face up in front of you. If you do not add to your Parade and have more than seven Unit Cards in your hand you must discard a Unit Card to end your turn. To win the game you must build a 10 or more Unit long Parade. All restrictions must be met for all cards in the Parade. It may require more than 10 Unit Cards to meet all restrictions on the cards. Unit Cards: There are 70 Unit Cards consisting of 10 Bands, 10 Dance Teams, 40 Floats, and 10 Marching Groups. These Unit Cards will make up each player’s hand to start and be used to build a parade. Many Unit Cards have restrictions on how they can be played. The Unit Cards and the restrictions are color matched. Action Cards: There are 40 Action Cards that define an action that the player will make on each turn. Actions consist of Discards, Draws, Steals, Passes, and the disastrous RAINOUT! Special Cards: Tandem Floats - Some of the Float Cards are Tandem Floats. Tandem Floats must be played in a combination of at least two cards. It may be possible to play three or even four Tandem Floats in combination, but all restrictions on these Tandem Float Cards must also be met. The Tandems do not have to match thematically. First Float/Last Float - Some of the Float Cards will have the restriction of First Float or Last Float. If you use a card with this restriction, it must be the first or last float in your parade respectively. You do not have to start/end the parade with one of these cards.
