How to Play
Build the Realm Deck, shuffle and deal out all the cards to the players. Game of Thrones: Masters of Intrigue is played over several rounds, known as chapters. Each representing a chapter in the stories of plotting, alliance-making, and power plays among the great houses of Westeros. One player is selected to be Hand of the King and they start the chapter.
Each chapter, players secretly choose a Rival House by playing a card face-down in front of them. This marks the noble house that the player is not aligned with. Any cards collected of this house represents setbacks and betrayals their house faces from this opposing house. Rival House cards collected reduce points from their score during scoring.
In a 3 or 4 player game, play 4 chapters.
In a 5 or 6 player game, play 3 chapters.
The Hand of the King starts the first cycle of intrigue by selecting a card and placing it face up on the table. All other players must then choose if they play aligned with the lead house – by playing a card from the same house, or in rebellion – by playing a different house. Tricks are taken based on how many allied cards vs how many cards in rebellion are played, with your goal to be to collect points each cycle. Cycles of intrigue play until all cards are played, at which point scoring begins.
The player with the most points at the end of the game wins and is declared the King or Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, of the Andols, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Protector of the Realm!
