The year is 1931 and the Penrose Society has discovered something the world isn't ready to know: other dimensions exist. Echoes of our own world rippling outward into the unknown. As a Steward, your job is theoretically simple: Breach the barrier into an Echo, explore what's on the other side, and extract before everything collapses around you.
Echobound Adventures is a cooperative sandbox game for 1–4 players. You play as Stewards, explorers sent into shifting environments to complete quests and uncover secrets before a looming Adversary shuts you down.
Tense, Press-your-luck Dice Play
Success depends on a unique dice system where Moxie is your most valuable resource. Use it to upgrade your own rolls while lending a hand to teammates in a pinch. You can "fail forward" and reroll for more successes, but rolling a Threat symbol speeds up the villain’s dark schemes.
The Adversary: A Shadow that Becomes a Threat
The Adversary is more than just a timer. It starts behind the scenes, enacting disruptive schemes when the threat track reaches its max. If this happens multiple times, a Crisis can be triggered, and the Adversary enters the board as a physical miniature that moves, attacks, and can even end your Expedition if they aren't defeated in time.
Risk vs. Reward
The goal is to collect as many Adventure points as you can and then extract. However, the longer you stay to hunt for better rewards, the more threat you accumulate. If the Adversary achieves their goal during a Crisis, or a Steward is incapacitated, the expedition fails and you only score half of the points you've collected.
Campaign Progression
Between games, your hard-earned points fuel a persistent Environment progression track. This unlocks new Quests or Steward skills that are unlocked permanently and can be used in future Expeditions. With a narrative Adventure Journal that reacts to your choices, every session of Echobound Adventures shapes the world around you and influences the stories yet to come.
