The world of the Norse gods has descended into chaos. Everyone is fighting over the BigWig – the ultimate artifact, granting control over all worlds and all times.
BigWig is a dynamic trick-taking card game for 2–6 players in which all players secretly choose cards simultaneously. Each round, a scoring card determines the current trump colors and the value of the trick. Players compete to win these scoring cards, but ties cause rewards to slip beneath the altar, building tension for later turns.
Special Holmgang duel cards allow the player with the fewest points to challenge opponents directly, potentially winning not only a contested scoring card but also any unclaimed rewards hidden under the altar. In addition, powerful special cards introduce rule-bending effects, reversals, and tactical surprises.
Hand management is key: players can sacrifice cards to draw new ones using their personal “Mímir’s Well” card, carefully balancing short-term losses against long-term advantage.
The game ends after the fourth Holmgang duel, and the player with the most victory points claims the BigWig – and dominion over space and time.
BigWig combines classic trick-taking with modern twists such as hidden simultaneous play, shifting trump rules, and cinematic duel moments. It rewards clever timing, memory of played cards, and knowing when to step back to rebuild your hand instead of fighting for every point.
