In Big or Bang, players race along a cosmic track by chasing a fast-moving unicorn. This push-your-luck game tasks you with rolling dice to advance the unicorn. Each successful roll pushes the unicorn further, but as the collected dice are placed on the mat and cannot be rerolled, the risk of "busting" increases.
On your turn, you must collect all jokers and may choose one number to collect all matching dice. Then, you can reroll but you must collect a number higher than what is already collected. You must decide whether to "go big" with your remaining dice or "cash out" to move your own player meeple to the unicorn’s current position.
You can “take over” to start your turn where the previous player cashed out, inheriting their progress but with fewer dice. If you push too far and bust, the unicorn resets to the start, and you receive a bust token. However, collecting two identical bust tokens allows you to advance your meeple, turning a failure into a forward leap. The first player to reach or pass space 40 triggers the end of the race, and the traveller farthest along the track wins.
