Battle in the Beehive is built on the same core gameplay as Ants & Crumbles, but the experience feels entirely different. Battle in the Beehive is built on the same core gameplay as Ants & Crumbles, but the experience feels entirely different. With its new board and object system, it plays like a complete game in its own right rather than a simple expansion.

Victory can be claimed in two ways:

Dominate the picnic by eliminating all rival colonies and being the last one standing.
Feast in glory by collecting enough crumbles before anyone else.

This expansion replaces the temporary items on the board with two new bee standees that stay on the board and affect movement until relocated. They are relocated with an additional bee die.
Besides that a new board with hexagonal fields replaces the original board.
