You are entrusted with protecting the world from the surges of chaotic elemental energy that emerge from The Rift. It has been a century since the last surge, and most people no longer believe it even happened. Your numbers have dwindled, with only a few of you true believers occupying the region between the worlds, between matter and magic, strengthening your skills. You were caught unaware when four terrifying beings, commanding the different elements bending to their destructive whims, tore through The Rift ready to lay waste to your world. Before they do, you hastily construct concentrated spires of pure magical aether, blended with elemental energy, tuned toward order and balance, designed to offset the destruction hurled your way.
